It’s Flu Season... Come Grab a Flu Shot!

Updated: Jun 25, 2019

Here at Press Market we care about the health of you, your family, and your friends.

Therefore, since it's flu season we strongly recommend stopping by to grab a flu shot! This flu shot is made by Greenhouse Juices from Toronto, just like the rest of our amazing juices. It is made up of lemon and oil of oregano with hints of echinacea, astragalus, codonopsis, eleuthero, reishi, ligustrum, schisandra, white atractylodes, and licorice. I know, quite the intimidating list, but each ingredient plays a part in all of the amazing possibilities that the flu shot has in doing great things for your body!

Soothes a Sore Throat

Having to struggle with a sore throat while being sick is awful. Constant coughing and pain, almost makes it impossible to get anything done. However, in our flu shot the main ingredient is lemon. Lemon is great for soothing a sore throat, but it is also rich in Vitamin C, which are both important things in the path of getting better. Nonetheless, lemon is not alone in making your throat feel better. There is also hints of ligustrum. Ligustrum doesn't just sooth your throat but it also helps your body expel phlegm in order to clean the sick right out! It also works alongside the many other immune boosting ingredients by serving antiviral and antibacterial effects.

Boosts the Immune System

Just as ligustrum has immune boosting properties, there are also a couple more ingredients that do the same. For example, oil of oregano is one of the largest ingredient present in our flu shot, and it is said to have antioxidant, antibacterial, anti fungal, and antiviral effects. Oil of oregano is great on its own but there are a couple other ingredients working alongside it in order to give your body the best! For instance, echinacea. I always pick up a full flu shot when I am sick, but even by itself echinacea works wonders for me. It is said to increase the number of white blood cells, which are the cells in your body that fight infection. So in shorter words, the more white blood cells you have, the much better you are going to feel. Lastly, reishi. Reishi is a mushroom that is also said to help boost your immune system. However, it also can reduce symptoms of fatigue and depression, just like a couple other stellar ingredients in this shot!

Reduces Stress, Anxiety, and Fatigue

Getting sick can always make you feel weak, tired, stressed, or really anxious. However with the addition of astragalus, eleuthera, schisandra, and licorice to this shot, we can hopefully have those problems covered. Astragalus and eleuthero are well known for improving your overall weakness and giving you a large boost of energy to overcome and reduce fatigue. On the other hand, schisandra and licorice are working together in order to reduce the symptoms of stress and anxiety.

Helps Improve Appetite

When you are feeling sick, sometimes your appetite just isn't the same. Lucky for you, codonopsis and white atractylodes have this problem covered. Not only just helping with a cough, codonopsis also can help you with this loss of appetite. Beside this, white atractylodes, is working to improve your appetite while also combating stomach aches!

Overall, this flu shot really packs a punch! If you're feeling the start of a cold, tummy ache, or even a little weak, you now know where to find your knight in shining armour, your light in the dark... your flu shot!
