Locals We Love: Kelly, Founder of The Freedom Babe

If you’ve spent any time in Collingwood or Blue Mountain recently, you might’ve already crossed paths with Kelly — the vibrant, inspiring woman behind The Freedom Babe and Freedom Agency. Nearly two years ago, she made the move to the area and quickly fell in love with the lifestyle (honestly, who doesn’t?). But her story started long before that.

Kelly launched The Freedom Babe over eight years ago with one mission in mind: helping women build online businesses that give them the freedom to live life their way. Whether that means no more alarm clocks, scheduling work around morning Pilates, or doing what actually lights you up—Kelly’s here for it. Her signature mix of strategy, mindset work, and energetics helps her clients create businesses they love and lives they’re proud of.

Then came Freedom Agency—the sister brand offering done-for-you content creation and social media support. Kelly believes your online presence should feel aligned, fun, and like a natural extension of your brand (not another thing on your to-do list). Whether it’s dreamy visuals or full social media management, she helps brands show up and stand out online.

And if you ever need a dose of inspiration on the go, her podcast The Freedom Babe Podcast is a must-listen. It’s full of real talk, smart business tips, and those uplifting reminders we all need now and then. Think: entrepreneurial inspo, stories that make you feel seen, and a little manifestation magic sprinkled in. Perfect for your morning walk, your drive to work, or whenever you need a pep talk from a friend who just gets it.

Straight from Kelly herself — here’s our conversation.

What inspired you to start The Freedom Babe, and what’s been the most surprising part of the journey so far?

I started The Freedom Babe because it’s the resource I wish I had when I was in my early 20s. I had just graduated from university and felt like my only option was to get a job I didn’t care about. Deep down, I knew I was meant to do something bigger — I just didn’t know what that looked like. That curiosity led me to network marketing, which opened the door to personal development, entrepreneurship, and eventually, launching my own brand.

Once I experienced how fulfilling it was to build something I genuinely cared about, I knew I had to help other women do the same. I wanted to create the “freedom vehicle” I didn’t have — something that gave people the tools, inspo, and confidence to launch their own freedom-based businesses.

The most surprising part? How rewarding it is to build a brand around what you love. It never gets old, and it still blows my mind that this is my job.

What inspired you to start The Freedom Babe Podcast?

I started the podcast because I wanted to give more value to my audience and share stories and tips that would inspire them, help them grow their businesses, and show the realness of entrepreneurship — because let’s be honest, it’s not always easy!

Over time, it’s also evolved into a space where I share more of my lifestyle too — things I’m loving, personal growth, life updates, all the little pieces that make up the freedom lifestyle. It’s honestly become such a fun, well-rounded outlet to share, connect, and hopefully inspire people in business and life.

You’ve created two beautiful brands. How do you stay connected to your creativity and motivation?

The biggest thing I’ve learned is that creativity doesn’t come from forcing it behind a laptop. It comes from living your life. My best ideas usually hit when I’m out for a walk, sipping wine with a friend, strolling through Homesense, or doing literally anything that feels fun. If I’m feeling stuck or unmotivated, that’s usually my cue to step away from the laptop and go live a little more.

What’s your favorite part of branding or content creation?

I’m obsessed with creating a vision and bringing it to life. Give me a Pinterest board and I’m in my element. I love helping clients tap into the essence of their brand, then translating that into aesthetic, scroll-stopping content. Seeing them light up when they see it all come together is the best part.

When building a brand, what do you think matters more than people realize?

The experience you create. The way you make people feel. The vision you invite them into.

People don’t want to feel like they’re constantly being sold to — they want to feel connected, inspired, and like they’re part of something bigger. When you prioritize things like community, value, client experience, and the energy behind your brand, people naturally want to be a part of what you’re doing. They’re not just buying a product or service — they’re buying into a vibe, a mission, a feeling. And that’s what makes it powerful.

You’ve been in the Collingwood area for almost two years now — what made you fall in love with the community?

This community is honestly so special. You can feel how much people love it here. It’s the perfect mix of small town charm and city vibes — it still has all the things I loved about the city (like amazing restaurants, great cocktails, and a strong sense of community), but with the friendliness, nature, and slower pace of a small town. It’s the best of both worlds.

What’s one thing you always make time for, no matter how busy life gets?

My Bravo shows! No matter how busy I get, I'm still keeping up with the Housewives.
