If you’ve ever been through a life curveball maybe heartbreak, burnout, a tough transition or just a Tuesday and thought there has to be a better way to deal with this… meet Edie Gudaitis.
She’s the founder of Edie Gudaitis Wellness, a bestselling author, transformational coach, podcast host and someone who can probably tell what kind of week you’re having just by the way you exhale. Edie’s work is all about helping people (especially women) move through life’s changes, the messy, painful, and beautiful kind with way more grace and a whole lot less panic.

Through yoga, breathwork, meditation, retreats and coaching, she helps you come back to yourself. No judgment. No pressure. Just real tools and real care. Her podcast, You’re Already Whole, is a gentle reminder that you’re not broken, you’re just human and she’s here to walk with you as you figure it all out.
Edie didn’t just stumble into wellness. She earned it. After burning out in the corporate world and experiencing deep personal loss (including the sudden passing of her mom and some serious injuries), she realized that pushing through wasn’t the answer. Healing was. Now she teaches others how to regulate their nervous system, shift their mindset and reconnect with their bodies in ways that feel natural and nourishing.
We love Edie for a lot of reasons, her wisdom, her warmth, her wild dance party energy but most of all because she makes wellness feel real. No fluff. No 5 a.m. cold plunges required unless you’re into that kind of thing. Just grounded support, big laughs and tools that actually work when life gets lifey.
When she’s not leading a retreat, hosting a podcast, or helping someone find their breath again, you’ll find Edie cooking, hiking, dancing like she’s still in her arts high school (Glee vibes confirmed), or hopping on a plane to her next adventure. She’s lived in 7 cities across 4 countries, traveled to over 18 countries, and even bungee jumped over the Cheakamus River in Whistler. We’re tired just thinking about that.
She recently took herself to NYC to see Mel Robbins live, which we love, because Edie’s not just a coach. She’s a forever student, always growing, always evolving, and always down to share the journey with the rest of us.
Let's get to know her.
Q What inspired you to become a coach and facilitator?
My own transformation from diving deep into the practices of Yoga, breathwork, meditation, therapy and other healing arts that guided me through corporate burnout, shame, self-hatred, anger and complex grief… into my current everyday life —> one of deep self-love, inner calm + contentment and mental clarity that’s anchored in self-trust and a deep sense of resilience and safety.
The other inspiration to become a coach and facilitator was / is my desire to:
Empower people to live, embody and embrace their truth (aka greatness) to help create more peaceful, safe, inclusive, connected, loving and healthy communities where people feel truly alive and are THRIVING not just surviving.
If you’d like to learn more about my “story” you can read my chapter in One Decision Away - a bestselling book that I co-authored with 11 other amazing female entrepreneurs :)

Q How do you describe what you do to someone who’s never heard of breathwork?
I empower people to easefully cultivate more peace in their life by reducing feelings of stress, anxiety + overwhelm through connecting with their breath + body.
Breathwork helps people quiet the constant chatter of the mind and process suppressed emotions, so they are more focused + present in each moment, feel confident in their choices and feel relaxed in their daily life - especially in the face of change / uncertainty.
Q What’s your favourite part of leading retreats?
Creating safe spaces where slowness and rest are the focus —> space where people (especially women) can simply BE, rest and receive vs. doing or giving allllll the time.
A reminder I often share in classes + retreats:
Rest is productive. Rest is safe. Slowness is allowed.
Your body is not wired to goooooo + dooooo all the time. Enjoying a sense of inner clam, wholeness and freedom (aka Nervous System Regulation) happens most quickly and “easily” when we slow down, tune into our body, breath + mind and allow ourselves to “be with” whatever we notice - not judging, shaming or doing more to fix it or shift it immediately - but opening to our experience in the present moment and allowing our presence to be enough… and realizing that the world doesn't end and our life doesn’t stop, when we slow down + rest.
Q What’s the first thing you recommend when someone says they feel overwhelmed?
Let’s pause for a moment. Take a deeeepppp breath in and a big sigh outttttt.
Then I’d invite them to…
Feel your feet on the groundScan attention from head to toeSoften areas of obvious tensionBring a hand to your heartTake another deep breath + sigh outRest your awareness in your heart space and breathe naturally for a moment —> Ask your body: what do you want me to know right now?
And then listen.
—> often deep breaths or a simple hand on heart is enough for an initial sense of calm / grounding.
Then I ask specific questions that guide us to the heart of their concern / fear.

Q What do you love most about guiding women through transformation?
Being the witness to their transformation from the start to the end of the retreat or coaching program - AND - their desire to change and feel most aligned, at peace and alive in their life 🙂
So many microshifts happen in the slowness, in the “mundane” acts (like breathing), and in the “dark” (the stuff no one sees as we wade through the discomfort of accepting our truth, facing uncertainty and learning to open to more love despite not knowing how it’ll all “turn out”).
It’s beautiful to hold space as clients share “aha’s” + celebrate noticing the subtle changes in daily routines / habits (like how they respond to challenges or pressure differently → in a more grounded and calm way). And, it’s so special to hold space as they look back at who they were when they arrived at the retreat or started the coaching program with me, and who they became in the process —> who they are now.
Q What’s one tiny practice someone could start today to feel more grounded?
Take 3 conscious deep breaths every morning before you roll out of bed - AND - 3 deep breaths every evening before you close your eyes to sleep.
Q What does your own wellness routine look like right now?
Morning routine:
Breathe: 3 deep breaths before I get out of bed.
Moment of Gratitude: “Thank you for another beautiful day. I’m so happy to be here.”
Hydrate + eat some protein (whether it’s a protein hot cacao or a few sips of a smoothie)
Meditate + set intention for the day: 8 - 20 mins
Movement of some kind for 15 - 60 mins (free dance, walk / hike, workout, pilates, yoga)
* I always hydrate + eat, meditate, move my body in some way everyday AND make time to get outside in the morning / evening (whether for 5 mins or longer - especially if it’s sunny) … and I limit screen time in the early morning + late evening.
Evening Routine:
About an hour before bed, I dim the lights, and get off my phone or computer
Make a cup of “Night Time Tea” + take magnesium
Read a book for 15mins to an hour (depends on the time)
Then do legs up the wall for 5 - 15mins —> Roll into bed —> 3 deep breaths, then sleep
Q What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day?
Reading a fav book (usually a light hearted rom com) with a cup of tea + gentle stretching (like supported bridge pose or legs up the wall)
Q What does “being whole” mean to you now?
Feeling at peace, connected, free and at ease in my body + mind. A sense of deep contentment, gratitude and trust.
Q What’s one thing always in your suitcase?
Yoga gear + my hair straightener hahaha
Q What’s your dream retreat destination?
Ohhhhhhh this is such a great question! There are SO many…Hawaii + Spain

Q Mel Robbins live in NYC! What was the best moment of that event?
When she reminded us not to get locked in the past or current moment and to remember everything is temporary —> we have the ability to change course or change our mind in any moment, and we have SO much more time to “do the thing”, make an impact, or live the life we dream of. We don’t need to succumb to “worry-thoughts” of not doing enough yet or feeling we’ve “missed the moment”. It’s all here for us 🙂
Sometimes I forget that too - even though I share the same reminders with my clients, I’m human - I need the reminder too 🙂
^ That and her final prompt for us to complete:
This is the year I’m going to __________________.
Q What’s the most “you” thing you’ve done lately?
I attended 6 dance parties / funnnnnn dance events in the past 10 days haha…
Dancing FUEEEELLLSS my soul and brings me the most joy (along with sunbathing by an ocean or lake, or wandering a beautiful forest trail in the mountains solo or with friends) 🙂
